WBFF Asia announces Singapore Tourism Board support for inaugural championship in Singapore on 30 April 2017

Below are photos from the official press launch of the WBFF Asia 2017, which was held 16 March 2017 (Thursday) at Balaclava, Suntec City Mall, 2pm.

WBFF or World Beauty Fitness and Fashion is not just a fitness pageant but also a platform to inspire more Singaporeans to share their inspirational stories.

The highly-acclaimed and anticipated World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) show is set to take stage in Singapore come 30 April 2017. The prominent international competition will make its South-East Asia debut in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands following its first successful Asian pageant in Korea in 2016.

In addition, WBFF Asia today announced a series of partnerships that promises a spectacular show for participants and supporters. This includes:

Managing Director of WBFF Asia, Walter Tay, seeks to educate more Singaporeans about the numerous international opportunities that the WBFF Asia can offer to the competitors, “We are delighted to have secured the support of our many partners especially the Singapore Tourism Board. The competition offers our participants a strong platform with various opportunities to grow their talent. Registrations have been very positive from both Singapore and internationally. To date we have over 100 participants coming from Singapore, South East Asia, Japan, South Korea, India, Dubai and even Germany.”

More than just a fitness competition, the WBFF focuses on bringing back the true meaning of beauty. While an overall fit physique is important, the competition also serves to highlight other aspects of beauty such as grace, poise and showmanship capabilities. Channeling a Victoria’s Secret meets fitness vibe, a key factor that differentiates WBFF from other competition is the elaborate costumes that participants don, promising a visual spectacle for both participants and fans. The pageant features seven unique categories, each created to reflect an attainable standard of beauty:

  • Male Muscle Model
  • Male Fitness Model
  • Diva Fitness Model
  • Diva Bikini Model
  • Diva Figure Model
  • Transformation Model
  • Commercial Model

Bringing all the WBFF action to Singapore

As a lead up to the grand finale, a contest preparation workshop and mass workout session will be taking place on 18 March 2017, at The Arena SG – a newly built one-stop fitness hub for sports fanatics.

The mass workout session and stage competition posing workshop will be led by WBFF Asia official ambassadors and Pro Cards1 winners, Mr. Ahn Jaesung, Ms. Jun Min Ji and Ms. Jiyeon Kim.

Ahn Jaesung is a 34-year-old Korean personal trainer and fitness model who earned his Pro Card1 above during the WBFF North America competition in 2016. Jun Min Ji, a 26-year-old South Korean personal trainer, fitness model – clinched the 1st place in the Commercial Model and 2nd place in the Diva Bikini Model category during her professional debut last year. Lastly, Jiyeon Kim, a 24-year-old commercial and fitness model clinched the 1st place in the WBFF Asia Diva Bikini Model category.

WBFF Fitness Fiesta

In addition, the public can also look forward to the WBFF Fitness Fiesta taking place on 29 April 2017. A slew of fitness trial classes ranging from dance to calisthenics will be available to the public at the Marina Bay Sands. Aspiring male and female fitness models can still register their participation online at www.wbffasia.com. Participants can stand to win the much coveted Pro Cards as well as cash and prizes worth over USD36,000.
